This study examines the histories of love affairs with men and women drawn in Irozange, which are the scandals over the married man, Joji Yuasa with three ladies such as Takao, Tomoko and Tsuyuko. After coming back from studying abroad, Mr. Yuasa struggled to accomplish what everybody expected. However, he attracted many ladies because he came back from the Western world and that made him more depressed. After all, both Takao and Tomoko left him for Tsuyuko. Takao approached to Yuasa first and Tomoko married a man who had not divorced completely yet. They went back to their ex-boyfriends in order to making Yuasa jealous. Even though Yuasa truly loved Tsuyuko, He had to obey the objection against their marriage from her parents. After that, they committed suicide with a strong intension of not to follow the prescriptive society, which did not allow them to escape from patriarchy. It can be said that the author insisted the women��s freedom of approach to, and leave from Yuasa as well as the expression of love from women would be widely changed shortly.
