외국인 유학생 대학 생활 적응 프로그램 연구－신입생 세미나 교육 모듈과 만족도 분석을 중심으로 (A Study on the University Life Adaptation Program for International Students －Focusing on the New Student Seminar Training Module and Satisfaction Analysis)

본 연구는 지난 10년 동안 두 배 가까운 증가세를 나타내고 있는 외국인 유학생의 국내대학 입학에 따른 대학생활 적응 프로그램 연구에 목적을 두었다. 한류열풍과 함께 정부 주도의 세계화 정책, 그리고 학령인구 감소에 따른 대학 자체의 위기감 등이 복합적으로 작용한 이유로 국내대학의 유학생 증가는 가파르게 증가하고 있다. 반면에 이들을 제대로 교육할 교육과정의 체계는 여전히 문제점을 드러내고 있는 것이 현실이다. 특히 낯선 문화적 환경에 그대로 노출된 유학생들에게 대학생활 적응과 학습성과를 높일 수 있는 프로그램은 대학생활의 성패를 좌우한다는 1학년 시기에 반드시 제공되어야 할 중요성을 지닌다.
이에 따라 본 연구에서는 외국인 유학생 대상 대학생활 적응 프로그램으로 다음의 세 가지 주제를 담은 모듈을 제안하였다. 첫째 유학생이 입학한 대학에서 제공하는 각종 학습활동 자원을 소개하고 효과적으로 활용하는 방법을 학습하는 교육 모듈, 둘째 한국문화의 특수성을 비롯한 대학문화에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 문화적 충돌을 극복하고 해결하는 교육 모듈, 그리고 마지막 세 번째는 대학 학업의 수월성을 높이기 위해 한국어를 활용한 보고서 작성의 방법과 실례에 대한 교육 모듈이 그것이다. 또한 이러한 교육 모듈을 학생들에게 제공한 결과에 따른 만족도 분석을 통해 개선 방향을 점검하고 제언함으로써 유학생 대상 대학생활 적응 프로그램의 고도화를 위한 초석을 제공함에 의미를 두었다.

This study aims to examine the university life adaptation program according to the admission of international students to domestic universities, which has almost doubled over the past ten years. The number of international students at domestic universities is rapidly increasing due to the combination of the Wave of Korean Culture, the government led globalization policy, and the sense of crisis in the university itself due to the decrease in the school-age population. However, the reality is that the proper curriculum system to educate such students still has problems. In particular, programs for international students in the first year, such as those pertaining to students adapting to college life and those promoting academic capability, are crucial because the first year determines the success or failure of college life since international students experience unfamiliar cultural environments.
Accordingly, this study proposes a module containing the following three themes for the international students' college life adaptation program: the module that introduces various learning resources provided by the university where international students are enrolled and which they can learn how to use more effectively; the module that overcomes and resolves cultural conflicts based on the understanding of university culture including the peculiarities of Korean culture; and the module concerning the methods and examples of report writing using Korean to increase the excellence of university studies.
In addition, this study provides a foundation for the advancement of the university life adaptation program for international students by checking and suggesting improvement directions through satisfaction analysis according to the results of providing these educational modules to students.
