    The present study examined the relationship between focusing manners and stress coping strategies. Participants were 432 South Korean college students at Seoul and regional universities. The participants completed a battery of paper-and-pencil measures,including the Personal Demographic Questionnaire, the Focusing Manner Scale, and the Stress Coping Strategies. Results showed that female students were significantly higher on the Focusing Manner total score. For the stress coping strategies, female students were significantly higher on social support. Also, focusing manner was positively related to social support seeking, problem solving, and wishful thinking. Also, focusing manner positively correlated with avoidance, even though correlation was small. The high focusing manner group was significantly higher on social support seeking, problem solving,and wishful thinking, as compared with the low focusing manner group. Implications and future directions for research are discussed.
