This study aims to find out the correlation between Internet addiction and family communication and to examine the influencing factors related to Internet addiction in nursing students. The subjects of this study were 251 students in the Department of Nursing at a university located in J City. A structured self-report questionnaire was used to collect data, and the collected data was analyzed using the SPSS/WIN program as frequency, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. As a result of the study, the mean scores of Internet addiction was 34.8 score, the mean scores of Family Communication was 62.1 score, and 9.2% of participants were included in risk group of Internet addiction. Internet addiction negatively correlated with Family Communication. As a result of multiple regression analysis, family communication, poor health, and lack of sleep are factors that affect Internet addiction and the regression model explained 23.6%(F=4.52, p<.001). Based on the results of this study, it is proposed to develop and apply an intervention program that can promote family communication to reduce Internet addiction of nursing students.
