    Kim Yujeong¡¯s works tend to be discussed as a fiction centered around a rural area. In particular, literary education has been dealt with his works mainly focusing on <Dongbaekkkot> and <Bom?Bom> in a limited manner. These two works have long been functioning as case material to achieve the achievement standard of learning the concept of viewpoint and understanding the stylistic features.
    This paper considers the possibility of Kim Yujeong¡¯s urban short stories and its educational significance which has not been noticed in the past in order to broaden the utilization of literary works as educational materials. Kim Yujeong¡¯s urban short stories occupy half of his entire creations and has significance in the study as follows. First, it can be assumed that his actual life is made mainly in Seoul, and the influence of urban experience on his literary world will be great. Second, he did not regard the city as separate from the rural areas, but dealt with topics such as the urban settlement of the rural exodus in the short stories. Thus, his urban short stories can be distinguished from other urban stories because they contain the complexity inherent in the urbanization of the 1930s.
    First of all, the previous study reviews examine how Kim Yujeong¡¯s works are positioned in Korean language education and Korean language education for foreigners, and from then on, the necessity of educational application of urban short stories is derived. Next, this paper discussed the educational possibilities of urban short stories centered around education of character, education of point of view, and education of social-cultural context. These three types of education can be practiced through works with a distinctive inner psychological depiction of each person, works in which narratives of various focus subjects are presented, unreliable narrators appear, and works that reveal the duality of life in the city in the 1930s in connection with rural areas.
