The realistic image rendering in designing cultural contents provides a technology which maximizes the practicality and virtual effects of contents. This study discusses application of real-time rendering technology with WYSIWYG basis for design of maritime culture contents. By developing HDR water shader, it expressed reflection, Star Glow and under water. HDR(High Dynamic Range) rendering was compared with LDR(Low Dynamic Range) rendering, and in the HDR image rendering using HDR water shader, there were realized those of Gageodo boat on the lake surrounding mountains, sky, reflection of cloud and expression of the floor of the lake through the surface of water, Star Glow of water by sunlight. Also, it supports high level rendering technology of WYSIWYG method in node tree structure. The result from this study provides preferable environments to help contents researchers and designers of maritime cultural contents through a development of HDR water shader.
