In this paper, we examine a series of organized procession of Yokai called ¡®Hyakki Yagy¨­¡¯ in diachronic perspective. and It sought to derive changes of images of Yokai. Through this ¡®Hyakki Yagyo¡¯ was reinterpreted in an existing image and meaning of the individual Yokai in terms of the collective Yokai. The role of collective specter and its function is also going to analyze with the transformation In addition to the times in any form. On the subject of fear and fear leads from the Middle Ages to ¡®Hyakki Yagy¨­¡¯ was confirmed through the old literature. Finally The Yokai image is analyzed by the transfiguration, which leads to the judgment that was bound to be transformed into a new form. It varies with age was not meant to be fading Yokai images. To the original Yokai it will be seen as a natural process of injecting new vitality befitting the new era. But it would not be overlooked in this process. Yokai are not changed. Currently we have changed ourselves to consume it. Consumption potential in various forms of Yokai will be infinitely open. The more mature attitude of those who study and use of Yokai will be considered when the demand than ever.
