This is a part of study that reveals the aspects of Guinhoe(the Circle of Nine ¾ÅÈË•þ), a literary group in the first half of the 1930s that was responded to the commercialization of newspapers as literary tools. Although Guinhoe published many works in newspapers, it argued that literature should be protected from newspaper commercialism, and such a double attitude was most evident when they coped with newspaper serialized novels. In other words, the members of Guinhoe did not give up on the pursuit of the artistry of novels while writing newspaper serialized novels that were recognized as a means of commercialism in the newspapers at the time. On the premise that the consciousness of Guinhoe who tried to write newspaper serialized novels using their artistry was embodied in form and content in their works, this study explored Park Tae©\won's Song of Youth(ìi´ºíž).
The order of discussion in this study is as follows. First, this study specifically revealed the commercialism of newspapers in the first half of the 1930s that Guinhoe writers encountered. Second, based on Park Tae©\won's critiques, this study discussed that he tried to pursue artistry through technique, that is, a way of effectively presenting a valid and truthful subject while writing a newspaper serialized novel. Third, this study identified the aspect of Park Tae©\won's thought embodied in Song of Youth. In other words, this study investigated the fact the conflict and solitude experienced by the youth of Joseon in the colonial era due to issues of love, marriage, and career are realistically and effectively presented as a decelerating(œpËÙµÄ) narrative technique through scene expansion in Song of Youth, and judged that it was the result of Park Tae©\won's denial of the normative newspaper serialized novel writing method at the time, protecting the aesthetics of his novel, and pursuing the artistry of the novel.
