The purpose of this study is to investigate the publication date of the Nammyongsongjungdoga made by a movable metal type which is closely related to the origin of the Korean movable metal type printing technology. The finding of this study are as follows.
First of all, it was proved that the movable metal type of the original of the woodblock printed Nammyongsongjungdoga and the movable metal type of the original of the Sangjeongyemun and Dongguk-yisanggukjeonjip are the same movable metal types which were made in the early 13th century by the government.
Secondly, it was also proved that the publication date of the Nammyongsongjungdoga made using the movable metal type is 1211.
It was published using the movable metal type by the Choi chung-hyun at Zen Meetings (Damseonbeophwae) at the Changbok Temple. According to the result of concentrated analysis on 7 kinds of critical books including the Beopbodangyeong(Sutra Spoken) which was published for the association of the Suseonsa in the early 13th century, it was found that the publication of the Beopbodangyeong(Sutra Spoken) was closely related to the Zen Meetings (Damseonbeophwae) at the Changbok Temple.
Accordingly, it was maintained that the year of origin of the Korean movable metal type printing is 1211 by proving that the Nammyongsongjungdoga made using the movable metal type was published related to the Zen Meetings(Damseonbeophwae) at the Changbok Temple in 1211.
