Truman, the protagonist of the <Truman Show>, is the main character of the program since being a fetus. He lives in a world that has been thoroughly directed by the television director, realizing that his life is real. Everyone, including parents, wife and friends, is mobilized as an actor, and all of Truman's life is exposed to thousands of cameras. All of Truman's privacy is broadcast live to viewers around the world. Here we can ask the following questions. One is whether the world in which Truman lives is a fake. Even if his world was perfectly planned by the director, is he really real because he lives by believing that the fake world is real? Another question is why at the end of the film, why Truman has abandoned the familiar world that why he didn¡¯t hesitate to go to the dark world of unknownness. Truman is unconsciously afraid of the sea and thinks his life is not unhappy. Nevertheless, he is determined to overcome the sea trauma and to move away from the existing life of family and friends. Is Truman really acting according to his will? This article seeks to explore these two questions based on the Spinoza's thought that human beings are presumed to preserve their existence in nature.
