This research examines Christian Spuck's from an expressionist per- spective, analyzing the elements of hearing, vision, and movement to in- vestigate the relevance of early 20th-century expressionist trends in the 21st century.
The study aims to explore the impact of expressionist techniques on contemporary dance creation. In terms of auditory elements, modern mu- sic techniques are used to emphasize the characters' inner emotions and feelings. Visual factors, such as the use of a grey stage installation, mini- malist LED lighting, and unusual props, reveal the characters' inner loneliness and expose the distortion of social values. Action elements, in- cluding "turn-in and curvy action forms" and the combination of con- tinuous action with strange props, depict the characters' distorted images. Additionally, the use of canon technique and ABC format creates tension and propels the energy flow forward. Spuck's work enriches the expressionist vocabulary through the design of visual, auditory, and movement elements, offering new creative inspiration for emerging choreographers.
