The discussion of fantasy shown in Park In-hwan’s poetry is due to the grotesqueness that flows at the bottom of his poetry. The poet’s attitude uses grotesque images as a major internal driving force, and the grotesque and terrible images appearing in Park In-hwan’s poems contribute to exposing the violent fictions of war and modern civilization. As such, fantasy based on subversive imagination and violation can be defined as a path to create new senses and poetic energy to break through the absurd reality. The poetic fantasy embodied in Park In-hwan’s poems starts from a deep sense of solidarity with reality, and since reality itself is erased, it is impossible to distinguish between reality and fantasy. The fantasy poetry at this time visualizes the fantasy itself and overlaps different fantasies. This can be seen as a realization of a new realism, not a fanciful fantasy. By constantly disturbing the boundaries of reality, these fantasies try to confess that the fantasies he created are real life itself. Also, his fantasy poems, which are consistent with bizarreness, are a passage that connects the old and new generations and will present a new perspective on the study of fantasy.
