백제 한성기 중앙지역의 횡혈식 석실 초기 수용과 전파 (Early Acceptance and Spread of Baekje Corridor Stone Chamber Tombs of the Hanseong Period)

백제 한성기 횡혈식 석실은 중앙에서 지방 및 재지 세력으로 전파되는 과정에서 구조적 다양성을 나타내는 것으로 이해되고 있다. 근래 하남 감일동 일대에서 정형성을 가진 횡혈식 석실이 대규모로 확인되어 중앙에서 지방 및 재지 세력으로 전파 시 일정한 규제 혹은 정형성을 가진 기술력이 동반되었을 것으로 추정된다. 본 고에서는 이러한 의문점을 해결하기 위해 중앙지역의 횡혈식 석실 초기 수용을 재검토하여 한성기의 횡혈식 석실이 어떻게 다양성을 가지게 되는지에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다.
백제 중앙지역의 묘제는 성내천을 기준으로 서계왿� 동계로 구분된다. 서계에는 석촌동 고분군과 가락동 3호분이 확인되는데, 이들 묘제는 일제강점기에 제작된 고분분포도를 통해 묘역이 연결된 것이 확인된다. 동계에는 감일동･감이동･광암동에 걸쳐 횡혈식 석실이 확인된다. 성내천을 기준으로 현실은 서계는 방형+대형이, 동계는 장방형+소형이 확인되어 동서의 위계가 나뉘는 것이 확인된다. 대규모로 확인된 동계의 횡혈식 석실은 높은 구조적 특성이 확인되어 백제 중앙에서 묘제를 조영할 때 일정한 규제가 있었을 것으로 판단된다.
이를 토대로 횡혈식 석실이 지방 및 재지 세력으로 전파되는 양상을 살펴보았을 때, 동일 유적 내에서 방형과 장방형이 모두 나타나는 경우 장방형+소형 → 방형(횡장방형)+대형으로 변화하는 것이 확인된다. 또한, 위신재가 출토되어 백제 중앙과 친밀성이 확인되는 유적에서는 초기 횡혈식 석실 유입 시 장방형+소형의 형태로 구축되는 공통점이 확인된다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 동일 유적에서 확인되는 방형과 장방형의 차이는 위계 문제보다는 지역에서 처음 횡혈식 석실을 수용했을 때, 백제 중앙과의 친연성이 얼마나 큰지에 따른 결과로 해석할 수 있다. 다만 평면 형태가 변화하는 것도 확인되기 때문에 묘제 축조에 있어 백제 중앙의 지속적인 영향 및 규제가 있었다고 보기는 어렵다. 또한 동일 유적 내에서 장방형에서 방형 계열로 변화하거나 혼용되어 사용되는 경우가 나타나기 때문에 기존의 특정 구조에 따른 다른 기원을 가진다는 견해는 재고할 필요가 있다.

The corridor stone chambers from the Baekje Hanseong Period are recognized for their structural diversity as they disseminated from the central regions to regional and local powers. Recently, a significant number of standardized corridor stone chambers have been discovered in the Gamil-dong area of Hanam, implying that the dissemination from the central regions to regional and local powers likely involved specific regulations or standardized construction techniques. This paper aims to address these questions by re-evaluating the initial adoption of corridor stone chambers in the central region to explore how the corridor stone chambers of the Hanseong Period developed their structural diversity.
The burial practices in the central region of Baekje are divided into western and eastern systems by the Seongnaecheon stream. In the western system, the Seokchon-dong tombs and Garak-dong Tomb No. 3 have been identified, and it has been confirmed through distribution maps created during the Japanese colonial period that these burial grounds are interconnected. In the eastern system, corridor stone chambers have been discovered in Gamil-dong, Gami-dong, and Gwangam-dong. The western burial chambers, located west of the Seongnaecheon stream, are large and square, while the eastern burial chambers are small and rectangular, highlighting a hierarchical distinction between the two areas. The numerous corridor stone chambers found in the eastern system, noted for their high structural quality, suggest that there were specific regulations governing the construction of burial systems in Baekje's central region.
Based on this analysis, when examining the spread of corridor stone chambers to regional and local powers, it is observed that at sites where both square and rectangular shapes appear, the structures transition from small rectangular shapes to large square (or transverse rectangular) shapes. Furthermore, at sites where prestige goods have been unearthed, indicating close ties with the Baekje central region, it is commonly observed that the initial corridor stone chambers were constructed in the shape of small rectangular structures. These findings suggest that the differences between square and rectangular shapes found at the same site can be interpreted as a result of the degree of affinity with the Baekje central region at the time of initial adoption, rather than an issue of hierarchy. However, since changes in the layout are also observed, it is difficult to assert that there was continuous influence or regulation by the Baekje central region in the construction of burial systems.
Furthermore, since transitions from rectangular to square layouts or the combined use of both shapes are observed within the same site, the perspective that these different layouts have distinct origins should be reconsidered.
