Adoption and management of PBL in Japanese classes - Focusing on textbook-based classroom activities - The purpose of this study is to find a class design and effective operation of classroom activities to effectively teach the ��Japanese�� at universities. In this study, PBL was adopted as a method to increase the level of ��learning satisfaction�� for Japanese learners and to reduce the learning burden, and results of the seasonal semester classes were analyzed and reviewed with a focus on Japanese textbooks. Results of the study are as follows.
First of all, <Class Satisfaction> for the class of liberal arts Japanese that adopted PBL was high in all four items: [Overall Evaluation], [Textbook], [Participation in Activities], and [Contact Person (Professor)]. However, in <Activity Satisfaction>, [LMS Operation] was high, but [Activity], [Feedback], and [Communication] items were normal. Next, there was no clear ground for the correlation between <Activity Satisfaction> and <Use of Textbooks>. However, the satisfaction with textbooks has room for further examination with detailed survey items in the future.
In this paper, the definition of PBL and the purpose and intention of class design have been clarified. The process of conducting classes was made available to other Japanese teachers for reference. It is imperative to research and develop textbooks that fit new teaching methods.
