The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of empathy ability and positive psychological capital on interpersonal satisfaction of university students and to empirically analyze the mediating effect of positive psychological capital on the relationship between empathy ability and interpersonal satisfaction. To achieve the purpose of this study, 260 students in the first and fourth grades of S University in Chonnam were selected as subjects and the consent of the questionnaire was obtained and the results of the study were as follows. First, the empathy ability, positive psychological capital, and interpersonal satisfaction perceived by university students had a significant positive relationship, and empathy ability and positive psychological capital had a positive effect on interpersonal satisfaction. Second, positive psychological capital had a significant effect as a partial mediating variable in the relationship between empathy ability, interpersonal satisfaction perceived by university students. This suggests that in order to increase the satisfaction of interpersonal relations with colleagues, seniors, and professors in college life, it is necessary to cultivate and strengthen the empathy ability to recognize and share the emotions and emotions of the other party and the positive psychological capital to cope with them efficiently.
