This study compared the metaphor of Laozi's Water and the symbols of ten ultimatelessness(ʮ�o�O) of the JeongYeok(����) with the problems of gender equality, which are the new topics of the 21st century.
Confucianism is an idea centered on yang(�), while Taoism emphasized the value of yin(�) early on by presenting various values of Water. In the late 19th century, Jeongyeok's eight trigram(���װ���) appeared on Gyeryongsan Mountain in Korea. The number 10 that did not appear in the the sage Fuxi's eight trigram(���ް���) and King of Wen's eight trigram(��������) were first introduced, and the value of sound was raised again. Laozi and JeongYeok suggest a view of gender equality that has been around for thousands of years.
In the future, I think that if we compare and analyze the metaphors and symbols of the Laozi and JeongYeok, various studies on gender issues between men and women, which are an important problem in modern society, can come out. This study is only the beginning, and many follow-up studies will be available in the future.
