This study analyzed the technical efficiency and its determinants for Korean rice farming, and used a set of panel data on 2,067 farmers from Agricultural Production Cost Survey Report and Rural Farm Household Survey of the National Statistical Office in 1998 and 1999. The analysis was implemented through the Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier production function model with the technical inefficiency effect model for panel data, and the 2 models were estimated simultaneously. The technical efficiency of rice production was analyzed by 5 regions as well as to all the regions in Korea.????
