This paper paid attention to the life history of a migrant woman in the view of gender performativity so as to gain a deep and wide apprehension about the migrants, adaptation, and life history of the Chosunjok (Korean Chinese). For this, we analyzed the diaspora experiences and gender reconstructions based on the oral life history of Mrs P in Qingdao City, having been an emigrant to the old Soviet Union and Korea. Like Judith Butler��s theory, gender identity always changes and can be constructed in various colors by ways of contest, conflict, bargaining, and agreement with many conditions, including powers�Cnation, race, class, and social status. In this article, the narrator also has been continuously ��undoing' and ��doing�� through a transitional stages of her identity by various power relations and sociocultural conditions in the migrant process. The narrator��s gender identities have been reconstructed in various spheres for all life processes inclusive of diaspora experiences. This is because she experienced different statuses(a senior daughter-in-law, migrant worker, homecomer, and divorcee) and performed the meaning system according to each status. Therefore, gender identity changes continuously and is reconstructed by ways of various power relations and sociocultural conditions surrounding an individual.
