The purpose of this study is to examine the cases of politicity in contemporary Korean poetry using the politicity of imaginary body images as a methodology. This purpose started from a problematic awareness that, although there has been a lot of discourse in relation to the political nature of the poetry, which has been regularly discussed, it is difficult to find concrete actual research cases to support the discourse. The ¡®imaginary body¡¯ mentioned in this study is based on Spinoza¡¯s concept of imaginary intelligence, which says that the accumulation of image action brings an experience branch that is distinguished from simple sensory perception, which can give a broader and deeper perception of things. In addition, it can be said that the concept of ¡®imagination¡¯, which refers to images, symbols, metaphors, and representations that help to compose various forms of subjectivity, and Foucault¡¯s concept of the body that the body is a product of the way culture organizes, regulates, and remodels itself can be said to be a fusion. Based on this imaginary body image concept, this study examined the politicity of body image in Kim Ji-ha¡¯s collection of poems, The Five Thieves and Kim Min-jung¡¯s Flying Hedgehog Lady. The imaginary body image in reality that appeared in Kim Ji-ha¡¯s collection of poems was revealed as an effective strategy of collective affective politics that led the people¡¯s resistance at the time.
The imaginary body image in fantasy revealed in Kim Min-jung¡¯s poetry collection appeared as a direct and intense methodological strategy in breaking down the boundaries of the existing concept of gender and presenting the performance of creating a new gender.
