    This study aims to reveal the current meaning of ways of reading the Analects in the college liberal arts discussion class. In the college liberal arts discussion class, ¡°Reading and Discussion¡±, the lecturer wanted learners to understand the Analects more accurately, to enjoy it realistically, and to be able to lead a vision of self life in ¡®the Story of the Analects¡¯. In the age of the 4th Industrial Revolution, human education has become an important task for us to prepare for the future rather than technology, which is why we are paying attention to the Analects. The Analects is a book based on human education, and learners have had time to recall the meaning of the Analects through academic discussion. The learners themselves analyzed the current value of ¡®thought of filial piety¡¯ and ¡®thought of governance by virtue¡¯ in the Analects, through the process of finding the most impressive passages in the Analects, topicalizing them, and drawing issues. The learners discussed these two themes and concluded that the first ¡®thought of filial piety¡¯ should be kept in a more compromising manner. Second, it was concluded that ¡®the thought of governance by virtue¡¯ has limitations in real politics as well as limits to leaders who lead future society. Through the discourse reading class of the Analects, learners were able to experience a more creative understanding of classics. The discourse reading of the Analects was an effective class to improve understanding of classics, utilization value, and meaning recognition compared to lecturing reading. By reading the text complexly and expanding the meaning through communication, the discourse reading of the Analects will be a future oriented reading method.
