Etiquette is a set of conversational rules that aim to maintain harmony in interpersonal relationships by protecting the ego and dignity of each participant in communication.
Etiquette can be universal across all linguistic and cultural communities, but it can also be culture-specific. Digital etiquette is similarly a juxtaposition of universal, globally accepted traits and Russian-specific traits. Drawing on the work of Lukinova (2020), this study aims to examine the rules of etiquette by observing Russian email usage through episodes, aiming to explore the linguistic and cultural aspects of how Russian-specific characteristics are reflected in digital etiquette. The ultimate goal is to identify and understand the cultural aspects that are specific to the digital lives of contemporary Russians.????
