This article explores the implication of discussions on poetry and song in the Shijing poetics for understanding Korean classic poems and songs. The Shijing psalms were things that were used to creat the message of the King (World head) with abstract symbols used for cognitive communication and that were transformed into the speech of song adapted to the rule of the King��s music, media of emotional communication among the people. The mind of King who was the only person who correctly interpreted Heaven��s message, implied in forms of the interpreted message, poem, was made to be accepted by the people of the world through the sense and perception of objects and matters, and up and down according to the principle of pleasure implied in the rule of music. The Shijing was a legacy created to communicate and create the way to harmonize with everything in the world. For the monarchs who dreamed of a world order centered on one country, the Shijing was admired as Bible, because it seemed to imply what neutralizable physical properties embodyed by King Wenwang ���� who had been evaluated as laying the foundation for the opening of the Zhou dynasty, which had been regarded as the time when the dream came true, were, and how they were expressed as reflections on the ruler while changing the people��s habitual personalities from region to region. Of course, the reality that the monarchs who had dreamed of such a dream faced was quite different depending on the region and the times, and the music rule that was the basis of the psalm was not fully transmitted later. However, with such a dream, the monarch made an effort to restore the music rules of the King, and pass on his intellect as new one of the King��s to the people of the world to keep them. As a result, it seems that poetry and song were actually separated, but it was not different in that they used poetry and song as a means to change people��s minds and capture their repercussions. In successive Korean dynasties, the King��s music was determined in a manner similar to that in Chinese ones and used as means of up-and-down communication. In this respect, Korean classic songs with speech characteristics different from those of China, in particular, seem legacy of the Kings�� rule of music by which they tried to communicate with the people in the dynasties where they dreamed of becoming one of the King, change the people to have a heart that conformed to the will of the King, and capture repercussions of the people about their ruling.
