This paper aims to understand the reality of Chinese studies in Korea with more objective data. For this purpose, the bibliographic database of¡ºSungkyun China Brief¡», which focuses on Chinese studies, was used as the subject of analysis. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted on the data according to basic classification types, and visualization was conducted through text mining. As a result of the analysis, domestic Chinese studies have been relatively focused on diplomatic/economic fields, and the subjects have been characterized by high policy interest in China¡¯s relations with the Korean Peninsula and the Chinese economy under US-China competition, i.e., they are more policy- oriented and Korean Peninsula-centered than academic interest in China itself. However, it was encouraging to see that East Asian regional cooperation, China's relations with other regions, and cross-strait issues, which receive less policy attention, were consistently examined. In particular, issues of political reform and political discourse in China, such as Chinese-style democracy and governmental governance, were covered in relatively large numbers, which can be attributed to the fact that Chinese political scientists used the Sungkyunk China Brief as a platform to publish their papers. Unfortunately, these studies still remain a minority in domestic Chinese studies. This is why it is important to pursue diversity in future research to improve our understanding of China. Even in the field of policy, which is already well researched, there is a need for long-term analysis that reflects historical trends rather than short-term issues.
