In The History of Korean Modern Literature, Korean traditional intellectual who wrote many narrative papers in kaehwa-ki incorporated kaewha-kyemong tamron(é_»¯†™ÃÉÕ„Õ“ the discourse of enlightenment in the Korean Modernization Period between 1880's and 1910's) in them. Those papers have manifold investigations which Korean traditional in- tellectual made for solving national, social and individual crisis that they never experienced. So Ahn' study works of culture and heritage of the country developed the theory of Korean Modern academic research methodology that the study of the History of Korean Literature should explain the distinct characteristics of the Korean history in kae-hwa gi(the period of Korean Enlightenment in 19th century). Ahn's methodology show the plan that Korean intellectuals can find out the spirit of the age and study contemporary literature and art which have traditional sentiment and contemporary expectation of Korean.
