    There exists variety ways to teach students, and historical reenactment is one of the most effective ways of teaching and learning history. There are few, if any, concrete studies which make possible historical reenactment in classroom in the Korean middle school. This study aims at solving this problem, and developing effective lesson plans utilizing historical reenactment for history class in the Middle School.
    Rosetta Stone was selected as the topic with the two great scholars decoding it as the main characters. Lesson Plan was made so that students will "reenact" their thinking process in decoding the hieroglyphs in the Stone step by step. In preparing it, particular attention was given to let students experience on their own level and terms Thomas Young and Jean Champollion's critical and creative thinking process. We tried to remove elements of memorizations and one-sided explanation in it.
    In consideration of the fact that students are not familiar with Rosetta Stone and its decoding process, two measures were taken.
    First, a short video clips showing brief history of Rosetta Stone was made and presented at the start of the class. The second measure was activity sheets of multiple choice questions. Students were expected to experience historical reenactment step by step in the course of solving them in activity sheets.
