This study aims to analyze and explain functions of regional dialects and slangs in discourse in Korean SNS texts. For this purpose, I used two research methodological frameworks. First framework was to find and analyze regional dialects and slangs occurring in the whole discourse on the Facebook timeline texts. The second one was to analyze social networks in which members communicate with regional dialects or slangs. The results showed clear gender differences between male and female networks. Female made use of dialects and slangs for discursive objects more frequently than male. QAP (Quadratic Assignment Procedure) correlation analysis revealed male network of friendship is more similar to slang network than dialect network, while female network of friendship is more similar to dialect networks than slang networks.????
