This is a study of the Confucian Kingship as it was understood by Yeoheon Jang HyunKwang(1554-1637). He was a typical neo-confucian scholar and politician who had studied for finding best governance idea for the king in the center of a major change from late 16th century to early 17th century in chosun society. He suggested his own project to reconstruct of political order by the king which was burnt into the king who is the center of the politics.
Yeoheon Jang HyunKwang's kingship was based on the Keon-keuk(���O). It was understood as the accomplishment of the king's morality. By emphasizing the correspondence between the politics and the studying. The core of his kingship is based on the fact that whether the king has morality or not. So he suggested to the king that he cultivate the innate morality by studying of the Great Learning(��W) and the Doctrine of the Mean(��ӹ). And he suggested the proper attitude to the king for good governance such as building the height political goals, trying to cultivate men of the talent, the vitalization of the speech, and the establishment of the value system.
