This thesis is for studying a base of Changkang Kim, Taek-young's publishing business at his asylum country, Nantong. Kim, Taek-young was a excellent writer and intellectual with knowledge of Confucianism. Also he is designated as one of great writers of the end of the Korean Empire and considered as the last generation of ancient Chinese literature in Korea.
He sought asylum in China where is the origin of Chinese civilization and Confucianism at 1905, he chose Nantong(��ͨ) as a residence district instead of Manchuria(�M��) or Shanghai(�Ϻ�) where Many Korean Lived in. Nantong was a modern city designed by Zhang Jian(����) who asserted a regional autonomy. He reviewed for living in Hanmungrim publishing company(��ī��ӡ����).
Kim, Taek-young took a positive view about western system which was coming newly after Shinhae revolution(��������) at the poem ��feel about China��s in the cause of justice(���Ї��x����)�� written after observing Wuchang Uprising(�������) caused the revolution. He changed the number of including works over reorganizing his collection of arts in order to focus on a collapse of Ching(�[) dynasty by the different race and recovery of the nation by Han(�h) race. At first he had a positive viewpoint to the republicanism because he had associated with Chinese personages including Zhang Jian. But he made an objection to the republicanism because of rejecting Confucianism after the adopting republicanism. He believed that the regaining Confucianism was the way to solving practical problems nevertheless Confucianism was hard to get influence by the time of the competition and the survival of the fittest. He asserted to conduct well-timed ��Koun-do(���)�� and get out of the abstruse attitude pursuiting ��Kyung(��)��.
He took priority over passing down ��Confucian ideas�� and ��classical Chinese literature�� and the point came up on his publishing business. He, as a good writer, established the basis of the history of Chinese prose through publishing Ryohangoogamooncho(���n�ż����n: published �����nʮ�����n�� after including Kim, Taek-young later) and took a role setting up ��Classics�� by presenting the model of Chinese prose. He also published the collections of arts of the time's good writer such as Maechun-jip(÷Ȫ��) and Myungmidang-jip(�����ü�). There are remarkable points that the publishing business had been taken technical supports by Hanmungrim publishing company as his place of work and regional Confucian intellectuals at Gaesung(�_��), Honam(����), Youngnam(�X��) inside Korea and Nantong were associated each other to make fund and distribute for the books in addition.
