According to their opinions, they prefer fulfilling their duties of the military service as KATUSAs to any other way for following reasons: better military welfare including better facilities and living conditions, frequent "pass and leave", the possibility of self-improvement through authorized free time, the improvement of English proficiency, useful experiences of foreign culture, and so on. However, it doesn't seem that they truly understand what being KATUSA soldiers really means.
