Executive Summary
General Electric Company (GE)’s loss of its value was caused by both internal and external problems. GE did not respond properly to changes in the external situation of the organization. GE suffered heavy losses due to poor decision making and poor faith in investments or omission, even threatening GE's core capabilities. The most fundamental reason for this risk came from within the organization. The biggest causes are structural problems in the organization and problems in the organizational culture.

General Electric Company (GE) was incorporated in 1876, in Schenectady, New York. GE traces its beginning by Thomas Edison, who established Edison Electric Light Company in 1878. In 1892, GE was created by merger of Edison General Electric and Thomas-Houston Electric Company.
