Why did Zhuangzi ridicule Confucius 공자왿� 장자의 사상 비껓 영어 작문

If I tell someone who knows about Zhuangzi and Confucius that Zhuangzi ridiculed Confucius, he or she is often surprised and asks me if it is true. Many people would think both Zhuangzi and Confucius are known as old sages and therefore why would Zhuangzi ridicule Confucius. However, it is not hard to find example of Confucius ridicule the text of "Zhuangzi" written by Zhuangzi. In Zhuangzi, Laozi, who is known as a first Daoist sage, taught Confucius lessons.(Zhuangzi 14:5) Confucius was born in 551 BC and died in 479BC, while Laozi was born in 403 BC and died in 221 BC.(CP p. 39) Definitely, Confucius had never met Laozi. Therefore, the conversation between Laozi and Confucius was the imagination of Zhuangzi to ridicule Confucius. In chapter 29 of Zhuangzi, Confucius tried to persuade Daozhi, who was known as a leader of 9,000 thieves, to be a good man and follow the rules. When he went to meet Daozhi, he had a driver for his cart. When he returned, he drove the cart by himself, because he lost a dispute with Daozhi and he was ashamed by Daozhi. Daozhi is known as a virtual figure made by Zhuangzi in order to ridiculous Confucius. Zhuangzi also ridiculed Confucius` disciples. Another example is a conversation between Zhuangzi and Huizi, a Confucius scholar. (CP p. 47) In a story between Huizi and Zhuangzi, Zhuangzi gave a lesson to Huizi and criticized Huizi for his narrow view point. From these examples, we can easily see that Zhuangzi ridiculed Confucius and his scholars in his writing. Then, a question arises: Why did Zhuangzi ridicule Confucius and his scholars?
