Trial scheduled for man charged in girlfriend's Henryville shooting death
The southern Indiana man charged with the murder of his girlfriend more than two years after her death has a trial scheduled.
Derek Pixley, 33, was charged in the 2022 cold case murder of Brittney Boman. He is being held without bond.
His trial is set to start in September with a pre-trial conference scheduled for June 10.
Pixley's family was in the courtroom as he appeared before a judge. He could be seen turning to them to see if he should get a public defender or private attorney.
The charges Pixley face carry a possible 45 to 65 year prison sentence.

The prosecutor in the case said the affidavit paints a clear picture from witnesses that Pixley murdered Boman.
Indiana State Police said she was shot around Brownstown Road in Henryville in October 2022. Documents say she was found by Pixley, who was her boyfriend at the time.
The documents say he knocked at a strangers back door that night and said, "Somebody shot my girlfriend, grab your gun."
Boman was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment. She was hospitalized until she died from her injuries the following December.
