Callaway and his wife attended the gala on their own, but they couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring him along, knowing he would continue to spread awareness for just what some proper love and care can do in saving the life of a neglected or abused animal. "I chose to keep Ethan in the spotlight as long as he could bring awareness. Awareness to abuse. Awareness to neglect. And awareness to shelter animals everywhere," he said. "I didn't know if it would be for a month or a year. But he keeps pushing me forward.
