Police: Jamarcus Glover drug investigation began after 13-year-old girl overdosed
Jamarcus Glover, a convicted drug dealer who is on probation, is facing new charges, including using kids to traffic drugs.
On Monday, police explained how the investigation began many months ago 맥스카지노 with the fatal overdose of a young girl.
St. Matthews police said back in April, investigators responded to the death of a 13-year-old from a fentanyl overdose at the Jamestown Apartments in St. Matthews. While at the scene, they learned Glover was living in the same building and said he was using children to help transport and sell illegal drugs, including fentanyl.
According to Major Eddie Jones, Glover and at least two other men were also distributing drugs out of a second location: a house on Taylor Boulevard in Louisville.
"Over a matter of months, our investigators, along with the DEA, were able to establish probable cause to write search warrants for both locations and to arrest Mr. Glover," Jones told 비바카지노 Viva.
The search warrants were carried out over the weekend. Between the two properties, police found 128 grams of fentanyl, 210 grams of cocaine, 66 grams of marijuana and several firearms.
In addition to Glover, police cited two men and charged three minors with trafficking narcotics. The juveniles were taken to Louisville Metro Youth Transitional Services.
Jones said it's possible more suspects could be charged in connection to the investigation, which is ongoing.
Glover is supposed to be on probation in Mississippi after agreeing to a plea deal in November 2021 involving multiple drug-related cases.
He pleaded guilty to a litany of charges, which in turn allowed him to avoid jail and serve 120 days of house arrest along with five years on probation.
The plea deal also included him living in Mississippi. It's unclear how long he's been living in St. Matthews.
"He's a person that truly has history here in Louisville as far as his crimes and selling narcotics," said Jones. "Our job here is to enforce the laws of the state of Kentucky, and we won't apologize for doing our job."
Glover was one of the main targets of a large drug investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department back in 2020. That investigation resulted in the deadly raid at Breonna Taylor's apartment. An investigator had alleged that Glover was receiving "suspicious" packages at her home, but that claim was unfounded.
Glover was already incarcerated at the time of the raid.
