After two finalists for Jefferson County Public Schools superintendent were announced, 비바카지노 Viva wanted to get more facts about the selection process.
Next week, the community will have an opportunity to meet Ben Shuldiner and H. Brian Yearwood.
But there has been a lot of reaction to these selections, and questions about how many candidates were considered.
비바카지노 Viva filed an open records request to learn how the finalists were selected.
One of the first things we wanted to know was if there were any internal candidates. There were four who applied for the position, but none of them were interviewed during the process.
We also learned there were a total of 34 applicants for the position. Of those, six were actually interviewed, and they were all external candidates.
As for the demographics of each applicant, 24 were men and 10 were women. JCPS said it did not collect data regarding race or ethnicity.
Looking at the six candidates who were interviewed, five were men, the other was a woman.
JCPS did not provide interview questions or evaluative guidelines for the search, as the interview process is still pending.
The community Q&A sessions are scheduled for May 20. The first session will take place from 4-6 p.m. at 3902 Atkinson Square, while the other will be held from 7-9 p.m. at Stopher Elementary School.
