Marty Pollio named president of Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana
Jefferson County Public Schools' outgoing superintendent Marty Pollio has his next role lined up.
Pollio was named the president of Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana. He will be the 10th person to serve as president of the college.
Pollio announced he would be retiring as JCPS superintendent last year, with his last day being June 30. He has been superintendent of the district since 2018.
He won't have any rest between gigs. His first days as president of Ivy Tech will be on July 1.

Pollio was selected as the college's next president after a search process involving faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders in the state.
In his new role, Pollio will lead Indiana's largest postsecondary institution, which serves more than 200,000 students across 19 campuses in the state and online.

Pollio is succeeding Sue Ellspermann, who announced her retirement in June 2024 after serving in the role for nearly a decade.
As for who will replace Pollio and lead JCPS, that has yet to be determined.
In the latest update in April, the JCPS board and superintendent screening committee said they are reviewing potential candidates. They voted on April 24 to move forward with interviewing six potential candidates.
