Her then-boyfriend, Brooks Houck, is accused of killing her, and Steve Lawson and his son, Joseph, are accused of helping him.
Steve Lawson tried to convince jurors that his only involvement was moving Rogers' car at the ask of Houck.
Lawson picked up his son, Joseph Lawson, at Crystal맥스카지노s broken down car on the Bluegrass Parkway after she had disappeared. While Steve Lawson admits to doing this, he denies knowing she was missing or that there was any wrongdoing.
His defense tried to convince jurors that the prosecution's evidence fell short of proving that Rogers was even murdered.
"Where is the evidence/proof Crystal was murdered? I don't know where she is and I hope and pray she is alive somewhere and this is all a big mistake," attorney Darren Wolff said.
The prosecution countered, saying they do not have to prove she was killed, arguing that Lawson knew the plan to get rid of her and took action, conspiring to help Brooks.
After five heated days in court, with intensity coming from both sides, the jury decided to convict Steve Lawson on both counts.
There was not a dry eye on Rogers' side of the room. Her mother Sherry Ballard was wailing when the verdict was reached.
Neither the Ballard family nor attorneys from either side were ready to talk to the media about the verdict.
