Charge upgraded for man arrested in 17-year-old's killing in Valley Station
The charge has been upgraded for a man arrested in the killing of a 17-year-old in Valley Station.
Laith Rajha, of Louisville, was found shot in the head in an apartment complex parking lot last week, in the 1300 block of Bold Forbes Boulevard.
The same night he was found, May 6, police arrested 18-year-old Jamal Sheikh. He was charged with first-degree complicity assault and tampering with physical evidence.
On Thursday, it was announced the assault charge had been upgraded to murder (complicity), which alleges he was either directly or indirectly involved in the killing.
Sheikh told police he drove people to the complex for a gun transaction, and drove them away from the scene.
Police have not said anything about other arrests, but in court Thursday, co-defendants were mentioned.
And Sheikh's bond was kept at $100,000.
He is also supposed to be in court on Friday.
